While most of the states in our country have their unique share of identities and diverse set of traditions and cultures, you will find nature in its best form exclusively in North East India.
Places in North East might feel like a slow-paced world with people living a slow-paced and traditional lifestyle, which is one reason you need to visit North East India and get a break from your fast-paced lifestyle.
If you haven’t been to Northeast India yet, here are five destinations or activities that might inspire you:

  1. Explore the age-old caves in Meghalaya

Meghalaya is gifted with plenty of caves of which some are only partially explored. Caves always attract people who love adventure because it holds mysteries that they would like to unfold.
From ancient caves that are easily accessible, to the longest natural cave in India, Meghalaya should be in every adventurer’s to-do list.

  1. Taste the clouds in Mawsynram
Travellers who have been to Mawsynram -the wettest place on earth, it as a site amongst the cloud.
Yet even for rain lovers, this place’s most notable attraction is the living root bridges that people have grown. Now that’s curious and captivating.
  1. Dawki river
Dawki River is known to have such clear water that you’ll feel as though you are floating when you are on a boat. To be in such clean water can be astounding as well as intimidating.
But remember, you cannot just book a ticket right now and decide to visit it next week, because depending on the time of the year, you might not always experience clear water: hence, research and plan.
  1. Trekking
North East India is the home to abundant trekking trails. Depending on your convenience, you will find your desired destinations. Some of these trails have already been explored while some are yet to be.
Two of the most visited trails are Goecha La and Dzukou Valley.
  1. Flora and fauna of Kaziranga
Whether you are an animal lover or plant lover, Kaziranga has got them all. While Kaziranga National Park is home to the famous one-horned rhinos, tigers, etc., Kaziranga Orchid Park houses hundreds of rare and mesmerising orchids species numerous rice species, etc. Kaziranga National Park is also a UNESCO world heritage site.

From the mysterious phenomenon of birds committing suicide in Jatinga to the rare floating islands in Loktak Lake, NorthEast has more to offer than meets the eye. But I would advise always to take safety measures and research the place you want to visit.
