The Kokan Mela celebrates the Kokani (a Western Indian Coastal Region) Food, Traditions & Culture, presenting its rich heritage in Dubai. It’s a perfect weekend outing for Kokanis and other expats of Indian origin who are eager to know about Kokani Culture. The Mela celebrates International Women’s day as the participants are restaurants run by Women.

Expect to sample authentic Kokani delicacies like Sandan, Khajuri, Sakhroli, Shikori Dhan, Methi Laddoo, Shingo, Ghawne, Ghari and authentic Indian seafood dishes from Vasai local restaurant, the only Koli cuisine restaurant in Dubai. (The Kolis, the original inhabitants of Mumbai, are known to be fisherfolk. Quite naturally then, seafood is the most prominent part of their daily diet.
