Unique DIY Gift Wrapping Ideas

Often people do not choose unique ways to wrap gifts because it can be time-consuming. But what if I told you that you can wrap gifts for your loved ones in simple yet unique ways. More than the gift, your family and friends will be touched by the thought and effort you put behind wrapping the gifts yourself.

Instead of buying fancy gift wrappers from a store, or hiring someone for this job, undergo the joy of wrapping gifts yourself!

1. Use ribbons and lace

What better way to make your gifts feel more special than by using ribbons and lace? You could layer your usual gift wrapper with fancy lace and tie it up with a beautiful satin ribbon. Or you could even layer different and contrasting ribbons with each other. This might sound unusual, but if you pair ribbons that are contrasting but complement each other, you get an amazing result.

2. Imitation flowers

If you do not want to stick to traditional decors, you could use imitation flowers as gift wrapping decorations. You could either make pretty flowers at home using coloured paper, old ties or even out of pencil sharpening.

3. Homemade stamps

Who said you need to buy artistic stamps from the market when you can make them at home? Dip balls of cotton in paint and create polka-dots on your wrapper. Cut ladyfingers or potatoes to make unique shapes and stamp them over the wrapper. Or, if you have lint or paint roller lying at home, you can customize them according to the shapes you want to stamp.

4. Cloth bags

You can be eco-friendly and create unique gift wrappers using cloth bags. Dump the traditional plastic or paper wrappers, and use durable cloth bags for your gifts. You can either sew a gift bag for yourself out of a piece of cloth or buy them from a store. If you want to give them a fancy look, embellish them with beads or paint them before wrapping the gift.

5. Replace envelopes

Want to surprise your loved one with pretty confetti balloons with money or letters in them? Then, let go of traditional envelopes. On popping the balloon, they can be surprised with the gifts inside.

Whether it is part of Christmas decors, Diwali, or even a birthday, gifts are in for all seasons! Something about giving and receiving gifts makes one feel extremely happy (at least I do!). What adds to this emotion of feeling special is when the exterior appearance of your gifts looks unique.
